Extrusion Capillary Rheometer RCSI-25/28

An extrusion capillary rheometer is a device used to measure the shear rate under high stress. It can determine the fluidity and curing speed of thermosetting materials, plot stress-strain curves and plasticization curves for thermoplastic materials, and measure the softening point, melting point, and flow point temperatures. It is also used to measure the viscosity and viscous flow activation energy of polymer melts, as well as to study process conditions for melt spinning. This instrument is employed to measure the relationship between shear stress and shear rate of polymer melts in a capillary, directly observe the morphology of the extrudate, investigate melt elasticity and instability by varying the length-to-diameter ratio, and detect changes in the state of polymers. Research on the rheological properties of polymers not only provides optimal processing conditions and data for the design parameters of plastic machinery but also yields valuable information on structural and molecular parameters for material selection and raw material modification. It offers more simulation modes for processing and a wider range of shear rates.
